Trained to Perfection

Training offers many benefits to employees and businesses. It provides reassurance to customers that a team is professionally qualified and at the top of their game, while promoting professional development, generating additional skills and encouraging pride in the workplace.

At BM TRADA, we provide a range of training courses in management systems auditing, fire, timber, chain of custody, sustainable supply chain and business. On average delegate pass rates for management systems auditing courses are around 80%. BM TRADA already has an average of 90%, so higher than most comparable approved training providers, but this autumn we celebrated our first student to achieve full marks.

ISO 9001 Training success

Michael Wallis, Quality, Safety and Environment Coordinator at HR Wallingford, an independent civil engineering and environmental hydraulics organisation, took the BM TRADA ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor course at our High Wycombe premises in October. This five day course is approved by the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) and is recognised as challenging even for those experienced within the management systems arena.

The course comprises delegate assessment during role-play, exercises, workshops and presentations, and concludes with a two-hour written exam.

Michael was thrilled to discover that he had scored full marks for the course. He said:

“I signed up for the training as part of my professional development, but also because I manage ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, and am the lead auditor at HR Wallingford, managing the audit programme for our team of internal auditors.

“I really wanted to do well in the course, but was definitely surprised to learn that I’d passed with full marks! Obviously I’m very happy with the result, but I also thoroughly enjoyed the course. We had a fantastic group of six people, which really made the course what it was, and Roger (the tutor) did a great job delivering it.”

Michael joined HR Wallingford in 2003 as a graduate scientist, and was promoted from senior scientist to his current role in 2015. He is very experienced in his field, and has six years of auditing expertise.
