BM TRADA is an approved as an Independent Agency for the British Fenestration Rating Council and provides ratings for the window energy ratings scheme.

The window energy rating scheme provides a method for manufacturers to demonstrate the energy performance of their doors.

The current Building Regulations in England and Wales require replacement most replacement doors to have a U-Value of 1.4W/m2K or less, however future versions are likely to contain an option for compliance through window energy ratings.

About the BM TRADA window energy ratings scheme

The window energy ratings scheme provides a method for manufacturers to demonstrate the energy performance of their doors, taking into account heat losses through thermal transmittance (U-Value), air leakage and, for certain types of door, heat gained from the sun (G-Value or solar gain) and gives an A to G rating in a similar way to door energy ratings.

Most styles of windows are included in the scheme, and different types of window construction are covered with various options available for glazing.

BM TRADA is approved as an Independent Agency for the British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC), and provides window energy ratings in conjunction with this scheme.

Air permeability testing, thermal modelling, U-Value calculations and door energy rating calculations can also be provided.
