On 1 September 2020, MHCLG issued a document containing updated guidance for the placing of construction products on the UK market (excluding Northern Ireland).

Subsequently the draft Construction Products (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 were laid before Parliament on 15 October 2020. They amend the Construction Products (Amendments etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 (SI 2019/465) to reflect the Northern Ireland Protocol. The 2020 Statutory Instrument's progress can be found here.

BM TRADA is able to offer UKCA marking product certification and related testing, to organizations placing products onto the UK market (including existing and new customers) from 1 January 2021.

We are extensively involved in EU and UK Standards Committees, Notified Body Forums and continue to have a strong relationship with government and industry bodies which enables us to be closely involved with progress.

We have been in regular contact with our customers and will keep you updated on further changes as we receive them.

For products being placed onto the Northern Ireland market, please click here for further information. This is an evolving situation and we are working closely with government as it progresses.
