Customer Communications
On 29 June, 2017, Exova was acquired by Element Materials Technology. Since that date the two companies have been working together to integrate our businesses, in a manner which enables us to invest and grow the market leading brands that are recognized and accepted globally, by both our customers and by controlling authorities and specifiers. As we approach the end of the integration process, we have some important news to share with you.
Element’s newly combined business makes us the recognized leader in Testing, Inspection and Certification Services to a diverse range of industry sectors where failure in service is not an option. With 6,700 engaged experts, operating from almost 200 locations in over 30 countries, you now have access to increased capacity, capability and expertise for all of your existing and future materials testing, product qualification testing, calibration, certification and consulting needs.
CHANGES TO OUR BRAND NAMES AND LEGAL ENTITY
From 1 December 2018, Exova’s Fire & Building Products business will be fully integrated into Element. This will mean that the Exova name will be retired in this sector. In addition, we are taking the opportunity to create sector specific legal entities and simplify our brands to Warringtonfire and BM TRADA.
Our simple, focused brands in conjunction with Element’s global testing brand strength will provide a clear focus on meeting our customers’ requirements, prepare us for further growth and strengthen our position as a leading provider of Testing, Inspection and Certification services.
It also ensures that you can continue to benefit from the investment you have made over many years in using our brand names, to help support your business.
From 1 December 2018, we will be providing all of our testing and certification services from Warringtonfire Testing and Certification Limited, our fire consulting services from Warringtonfire Consulting Limited, and our doors, windows, automotive and hardware testing from Element Materials Technology Wednesbury Limited.
Details of the new brand names and legal entities that the business will trade under are outlined in Appendix A.
CHANGES TO OUR BRANDS’ VISUAL IDENTITY
The rebranding of the Exova business means that from 1 December 2018 you will start to see the following changes:
Documentation (electronic and print) issued by the company will display the relevant branding
Our offices will be displaying new signage
Although we already operate under a number of market leading brands, in order to fully benefit from our association with Element, we will be updating our brand logos.
CHANGES TO OUR CERTIFICATION BRANDS AND CERTIFICATION MARKS
There will be no change to our market leading and globally respected certification brands, which will be retained and which will continue to include the following:
Certifire
Certisecure
FRACS
FIRAS
Q-Mark
BM TRADA
However, we have decided to give some of our certification marks a refresh and, where we previously had no mark, we have taken the opportunity to create new ones.
Our full suite of certification marks is displayed below:

CHANGES TO OUR WEBSITES
On 1 December 2018, we will be launching new websites for BM TRADA and Warringtonfire. These two new websites will complement www.element.com which was relaunched in August 2018.
IMPACT OF THE LEGAL ENTITY CHANGE
The introduction of our new company and brand names does not affect the validity of existing test reports, assessments or certificates previously issued by us and you can continue to use these documents as before. For our certification customers, we will issue rebranded certificates when your certification is renewed. These changes will not affect our internationally recognized accreditations which remain in place as before.
The Standard Terms and Conditions of Warringtonfire Testing and Certification Limited, Warringtonfire Consulting Limited and Element Materials Technology Wednesbury Limited, together with any quotation, proposal, estimate or fee quote shall apply in respect of all services provided by those entities unless otherwise agreed in writing with you. The Standard Terms and Conditions are in the same terms as those used by Exova (UK) Limited and can be found here.
We will be sending our new banking details together with full details of our new legal entities, including registered company name, registered address and company registration number to your Finance Department in the next two weeks. Please use the correct legal entity name on all purchase orders raised from 1 December 2018.
OUR ONGOING COMMITMENT
Whilst our company and brand names are changing, one thing that will not change is our commitment to you, our customer. The team at Exova is excited about being part of Element as together we pursue our shared goals of becoming the best and most trusted testing, inspection and certification partner for your industry by providing consistent and industry-leading on-time delivery, turn-times and service.
