Enhanced Security Doors

BM TRADA operates enhanced security Q-Mark schemes for doors and windows, to support Secured By Design (SBD), the police initiative to reduce crime on housing developments by incorporating crime prevention measures at the design stage.

BM TRADA's schemes for enhanced security were introduced to support the testing requirements for doors and windows to achieve SBD approval:

Doors - PAS 23 and PAS 24 testing for 'General' and 'Enhanced security' performance of door assemblies.

Windows - BS 7950 'Enhanced security test for tilt/turn window assemblies', plus material specific test standard (e.g. BS 7412, BS644, BS6510, BS 4873).

Certification will soon be a requirement for entrance doors and ground floor windows in SBD developments. It provides the assurance that the windows/doorsets installed on site meet the same high standards as those tested and therefore offer the same protection.
