TAYLORS FIT FOR THE FUTURE!

Date: 13th November 2008

Denholme-based C R Taylor Timber has declared itself fit for the future after deciding against a mothballing of its Thornton Road outlet near the centre of Bradford due to an outcry from customers. The temporary closure of the branch was considered but opposition from existing customers has led the 48-year-old family firm to re-evaluate its decision according to Sales Director Charles Taylor who is taking over a managerial role at the outlet. “We have decided against mothballing the branch and this has minimised planned redundancies. We will continue to ensure our customers receive the best possible service and products. “We’ve inevitably seen demand dip like many firms in our sector but C R Taylor is now stronger than ever and we are keen to build on our position as a key supplier and employer within the area. “We are also seeing a growing demand for our engineered timber solutions including our roof truss manufacturing facility and as one of the only suppliers in the region for these kind of made-to-measure structures we are feeling positive about the future of the business. “In recent years we’ve adapted well to market conditions with innovative decision-making and there is a renewed sense of confidence here that we can face up to whatever the economic conditions throw at us,” added Charles. Founded in 1960, C R Taylor Timber Ltd operates out of a 13 acre retail and trade site in Denholme with modern machine facilities and large sectional timber stocks for construction, and offers a next day delivery guarantee for orders across the region.  The family owned firm has recently achieved FSC chain of custody certification with BM TRADA and supplies local and national housebuilders with timber and engineered timber products.
