Cornish manufacturer, Gripsure (UK) Ltd has been awarded with FSC chain of custody certification with BM TRADA.
Based in Bugle, the company manufactures anti-slip timber decking products supplied throughout the UK. Having FSC certification demonstrates that Gripsure uses timber that is from managed forests.
Managing Director Mike Nicholson said, ‘We are delighted to have achieved this certification, as it will help us grow our business with all our major customers. A big thanks to our team who have worked hard to develop the systems required. It demonstrates our commitment to running an environmentally sound business.’ Furthermore, FSC certification has laid the foundation for obtaining ISO 9001.
Conventional timber decking boards may become slippery if algae growth and detritus build up. Gripsure overcome this, Mr Nicholson claims, by treating its decking with an anti-slip finish, ‘making the timber boards safe, for use all year round’.
The product is specified widely by architects and developers for commercial projects, but there is increasing interest from homeowners.
