Factory Homes with Q-Mark certificate
Factory Homes has achieved third-party certification under the BM TRADA Q-Mark Building Systems Scheme for its modular housing.
The company was awarded certification by BM TRADA at the Fabric First event at the Building Research Establishment in Watford.
The presentation was made to Graham Kemp and his team at Factory Homes on stage by the keynote speaker Lord Prescott.
The BM TRADA Q-Mark scheme ensures compliance with the main requirements of European Technical Approval Guideline 007 ‘Timber Frame Building Kits' (ETAG 007).
It covers factory production control, documentation and test/assessment evidence. The scheme also aims ‘to provide specifiers, regulators and inspection authorities with appropriate Information' on the fitness for purpose of the products covered.
To achieve third-party certification manufacturers and installers will undergo stringent performance and production audits on an ongoing basis, to ensure that every product will provide the same levels of performance as that originally tested.
“For the last 12 months, Factory Homes has undergone an exercise in challenging all areas of construction in order to both value engineer the product and ensure the product required is entirely suitable for manufacturing in a modern factory,” said Cliff Beal, Factory Homes’s Operations Manager.
“With the award of the TRADA Q Mark 3rd party certification, we are in an excellent position to produce quality compliant modular housing that clients and specifiers want and need from our audited modern manufacturing facility.”
