ENTERPRISE AND STAFFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL ISO 9001:2008 CERTIFICATION

A virtual joint venture partnership between Enterprise plc and Staffordshire County Council for the delivery of highways maintenance services across Staffordshire has received certification to ISO 9001:2008 for its Quality Management System from BM TRADA Certification.

The certification was formally presented to Enterprise and Staffordshire County Council on Wednesday 8 August, at a ceremony attended by Vic Bowen, Chief Operating Officer, BM TRADA; Councillor Mike Maryon, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, Staffordshire County Council and Peter Boulton, Operations Manager, Enterprise.

The jointly held ISO 9001 certification recognises the commitment to continuous improvement and efficiency which has been demonstrated since the establishment of the virtual joint venture in 2009.

Vic Bowen, Chief Operating Office, BM TRADA said: “Clearly, the Enterprise / Staffordshire County Council partnership is a successful one, bringing a number of significant benefits to the local community through streamlining of operations, reduced costs and job creation.

“ISO 9001 is a tool aimed at promoting quality practices which can help to deliver continuous improvement across the business. BM TRADA, with our challenging but pragmatic approach, will be around to help and support partnership venture along its new journey. “

Regarding the achievement of the accreditation, Mike Cafferky; Regional Managing Director, Enterprise said: “We are very proud of the achievements made to date as part of the virtual joint venture with Staffordshire, and recognise this certification as a demonstration of the successful integrated partnership working in place.”
 
Mike Maryon, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, Staffordshire County Council, said: “The ISO 9001 certification signifies our commitment to quality in highways for the people of Staffordshire. Throughout the virtual joint venture partnership we have established one set of joint procedures with Enterprise which are focused around the principle of a right first time, high quality approach.”
